Building bankroll off microstakes
Playing 28/20/2 on .02 .05 my goal is to make 20 dollars a day at the minimum while only going up in stakes if I have 15-20 the buy in. If I make 20 a day that is 600 in a month. I used western union to get 50 bucks onto stars and I am starting today already almost at my goal for the day haha. Is this obtainable with the rake? I will be multi tabling up to 6 at a time.

Learn to 12 table and play 24/14/2 and you should have no problem doing this in a few hours each day.

Re: Building bankroll off microstakes
Consider it the cost of your education. My friend, Dutch Boyd, used to be a prop player meaning the house can move you around to whichever game they need you in. He surveyed other prop players and found none could win in the cheap snatch games because of the rake. Get up home games and build a bankroll touring home games. You need to be playing $8 limit and higher to beat the rake.

The guys here asking about micro stakes are invariably refering to the microstakes games offer by online card rooms. In online card rooms the rake is typically much lower: a typical NL rake structure is 5% up to a maximun of $1, $2, or $3 depending on the number of players in the pot. A $3 pot with two players will only be raked $0.15. A $60 pot with the same two players would only be raked $1.00. The play at microstakes is horrible and ok players can easily beat the rake. Lucky |

Re: Building bankroll off microstakes
Are we talking limit or NL here? Seems like an un-necessarily cumbersome plan for limit but I don't know enough about NL to have an opinion. I had a different suggestion typed in because I am LHE oriented but I never see .02/.05 blinds in limit so I guess you are doing NL?

Don't set a daily cash goal. You can't control how the cards come out. Just think about every decision your make and the money will come in.

Now doubt you'll try it anyway- it's one of those lessons that most people need to experience before they take notice- no matter how many people advise accordingly. Good Luck |

I have done it before taking 50 dollars and turning it into 1500 starting with 1 cent 2 cent nl.... but that could of been a good run of cards that got me up to the higher stakes. |
