Default Re: Absolute\'s Response

I really struggle with understanding how the numbers can drop 50% or more by just changing the MGR calculation from Average contributed to Weighted contributed, but mine are tracking at a greater than 50% drop.

If I have misstated the manner in which the MGR calculation changed, then please correct me.

I would be happy if they just implemented the "fees chargeback against MGR" that is slated to start on February 22. I understand Absolute's need to make some adjustments for their recent increase in "the cost of doing business". In essence wouldn't charging fees against MGR be the equivalent of recouping the increased costs. I would think that charging all fees, which is more than the increased costs, against MGR along with the recent Bonus clearance changes would more than make up for the increased cost of doing business.

Also, has anyone actually seen their MGR go up as a result of the February change?

My MGR has not gone up, just down. -$500 on the 5th, after playing ONE day. Ouch! Needless to say, as a result, I have been playing VERY little at AP this month.

I think there are not going to be many people that actually have RB see an increase in MGR. And the people who do see an increase are unlikely to be posting on 2+2. Just not too many 60% VPIP players that browse poker forums.

Well I don't think their method of rake calculation is going to help you run any better

I still have something like $350 in bonus to clear from AP, but my AP BR took a big hit on Monday night. Looks like I will just keep my funds on UB and play almost exclusively there. Maybe I'll just play a tourney or two with my remaining couple hundo on AP and cashout if I'm not completely busto after that.

I signed up with Absolute after Party's departure and played a good bit there over the last several months. I played a lot less after the first T&C change with AP points. When I received the news of this additional change last week, I have cashed out my entire roll. That was the straw that broke the camel's back.

If the rakeback/promotions are changed back to a more fair manner, I will consider returning.

Same as you Johnny, I've decided to cash out my roll at AP. The latest change has cut my rakeback in half, and considering I don't make much money from gameplay as a limit player (only if I'm lucky that month), it's essentially taking 30% or so of my bottom line away.
Combine that with the hideous customer service I've had to deal with lately, and I'm not tempted to return.

They've fallen so far so fast. I used to be one of their most loyal supporters too. (As if the AP Serinda Avatar didn't give that one away.)

Oh, I've been running like utter crap live and online. The -500 was loss of MGR, not $ for one day due to contributed. That was my point... and the bit about not playing much at AP this month, well that's due to the bonus terms changing and the loss in RB.
