If he was a Democrat he would be viable sure, but as a Republican he has WAY too many holes to win the Nomination and the General.

Abortion, Gay Rights & Gun Control Issues
Divorces, Kerick & Police Abuses in NYC
His lack of top political advisors and Fundraiser base

Along with others will just bring him down too much. I still think the majority of the Republicans will get behind a Romney or Brownback as the months go buy, but if McCain continues to pander maybe not.

Why are the forums most liberal members experts on the Republican Party base? This is the party that couldn't even beat George W. Bush in TWO elections!

Since Adios left, the most active conservative around here is HeavilyArmed. Do you want to get your political analysis from him? There aren't many conservatives around here, yet another disadvantage of the inepitude of the President.

Is TomCollins taking a shot at Democrats claiming they know about Rudys campaign or the lack of Republicans/Conservatives posting in here?

I guess Irons post clears it up.

I think it's amusing that a mayor becomes presidential material simply because he was mayor during 9/11.

The Mayoralty of NYC is called 'The second hardest job in America' for a reason.

I do as well. The only one I can see myself voting for is Chuck Hagel.

He also reduced crime in NYC by locking a lot of people up for petty crimes and his policies caused a lot of people to be locked up for much longer periods of time.

[/ QUOTE ]

Whether this actually lowered the crime rate in NYC is highly controversial. The crime rate fell at much the same time as it did in the rest of the US, and probably for much the same reasons - economic improvements and the effects of Roe vs Wade.
