River: How many bets?
AQo in the SB.
Loosish raiser opens UTG. Terrible player on button who can overplay hands like no tomorrow cold-calls. I threebet and they call. Flop is the usual disappointment: J 8 5 rainbow. I bet, UTG folds, button raises. I call. Turn is a K. I check and call. Fold here? 7.5-1 pot odds, I guess not eh? River is an ace. What's your preferred line? Guy. |

Re: River: How many bets?
I'd play the same until the river where I would bet/call, unless you don't think pairs of Js will check behind. I think these hands check behind given the worst turn and river cards ever, so I would want to bet.

Re: River: How many bets?
Once the turn is a king you have 3 choices and check/folding is not one of them. Depending on the opponent I will be taking one of these 3 lines.
1) Check/raise 2) Donk/evaluate 3) Check/call Against this guy I think check/raising or donking will not accomplish anything so its time to check/call. You cant fold here cuz youre gonna have 10 outs too often. So assuming I check/call the turn and the river is an ace. I would probably bet/call this guy unless I believe he wont call me with Jx. In that case I would check/call and try to snap off a bluff. |

Re: River: How many bets?
def bet/call. make the jack pay and don't give him a cheap showdown. you are ahead a gooood amount of the time here.
although if he really does overplay hands too much, a check/raise/fold would be pretty damn hawt |

Re: River: How many bets?
I don't like calling that turn, assuming all your outs are clean in that situation is speculative, and you have negative implied odds if he has AJ or QJ or KJ or something else decent.
As played, bet/call river. |
