the guitar sounded [censored], but the weather may have contributed to that. prince is an incredible musician, but this def wasnt his best show.

omg you stole what i was about to post! great minds think alike!

Purple Rain was awesome but I think most people know 1999 more and should have been the second number.

The dancing chicks prolly thought that THEY were the show and should have been given the hook the first time they upstaged him.

It was all pre-recorded so there wouldn't be any mishaps like forgotten lyrics, broken guitar strings, or skipping Goofys busting in singing "Its A Small World."

prerecorded? i thought it was decided that he was actually playing guitar? or do those mean different things?

For those who enjoyed the solo from the halftime I think this link may be of interest. It is Prince and a bunch of others playing a tribute of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps".

More Prince

[/ QUOTE ]

Holy [censored]. Prince can [censored] shred.

LOL@ at the people in this thread who thought Prince wasn't playing because they don't realize you play a guitar with two hands.

you think he had a battery-powered electric guitar that transmitted the sound to the speakers via wi-fi???

also, the poster above me is exactly right.

The SuperBowl halftime format does not lend itself to great performances. With that being said, Prince performed admirably. Few artists combine performance and creative abilities to his level. My only disappointment is that he did not play "Sexy [censored]" while wearing his assless chaps.
