FT .25/.50 PLO BB hand
Hey guys,
I have recently been playing a lot of PLO at Full Tilt, mostly $50 and $100. This hand came up and I wanted to get some advice on my play. UTG has raised a lot of pots from any position and is generally weak unless the flop really hits him. I have played a few pots with Button and CO. Button is quite aggressive on the flop and CO is generally a calling station that wants to see all five cards before he folds. I know that this is probably a "Fold Preflop" hand, but I was closing the action. Thoughts on all streets would be appreicated. -- Full Tilt Poker Pot Limit Omaha Ring game Blinds: $0.25/$0.50 6 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $19.05 UTG+1: $56.70 CO: $13.65 Button: $40.05 SB: $17.25 Hero: $121.10 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is BB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG raises to $1.75, UTG+1 calls, CO calls, Button calls, SB calls, Hero calls. Re: FT .25/.50 PLO BB hand
Fold to the first flop raise, only 5 nut outs and plenty of reverse implied odds. Given the way you played it (forget that you got any of your money in ahead) I prefer a fold preflop.

Re: FT .25/.50 PLO BB hand
I think that the best advice for this hand is to fold it preflop to a raise.

Re: FT .25/.50 PLO BB hand
I would fold preflop but play flop the same.

Re: FT .25/.50 PLO BB hand
If it was J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] or you had position I'd probably play on further with the hand, but with that kind of multiway action you've got to be doubting how may clean outs you actually have in this pot
Preflop is as everyone says |

Re: FT .25/.50 PLO BB hand
1) Make a note of who the button is and their min-raise to possibly get a free turn card in position
2) you are on the low end of the straight and should find a fold here more often than a call (also because of the flush draw hurting your outs) 3) fold preflop |

Re: FT .25/.50 PLO BB hand
I see your point in you closing the action preflop. In Super System 2 (the O/8 section) Bobby Baldwin has a good reason to drop a lot of hands preflop - they can get you into serious trouble.
Considering the stacksizes you pretty much know that you can not push a nutflush draw out on the turn. Possible trips and the flushdraw - I think I would manage to lay this down on the flop. The price is ~5:1, implied odds will not be huge. Even if you count in the remaining $26 from the button you are beeing laied ~7.5:1 for beeing shown 1 card. If it hits you there are tons of redraws. Hope this makes sense from a pretty newbie omaha/poker player |
