PartyGaming completes licensing agreement with Playtech... Press Release
PartyGaming Plc - Playtech Licensing Agreement PartyGaming, the world’s leading listed online gaming company, today announces that it has satisfied the software licensing condition applicable to the agreed acquisitions of the assets, players and gaming related contracts associated with Empire Online Limited’s gaming business and all of Intercontinental Online Gaming’s business and assets. A four-year software licensing agreement covering the key online gaming websites being acquired from Empire and Intercontinental has been concluded with Playtech, the world’s largest publicly traded online gaming software supplier. The terms of the agreements, which will replace the contracts that Playtech has in place with both Empire and Intercontinental and which are conditional on the completion of the sale of the Empire and Intercontinental assets, are not being disclosed. Online gaming websites operated by Empire and Intercontinental include: NoblePoker.com, Clubdicecasino.com, EnterCasino.com, MissBingo.com, FairPoker.com, and MagicBoxCasino.com. Founded in 1999, Playtech is listed on London’s Alternative Investment Market. It has more than 300 employees, of which 250 are engaged in research and development of current and future gaming technologies. All of Playtech’s products support multiple currencies and are available in several European and Asian languages. The Playtech gaming platform can also be fully integrated or run in tandem with PartyGaming’s gaming systems. ------------ Any thoughts on what that last sentence might mean? |

Re: Official Poker Site/Network Tracking thread
Sniper,
It just seems to mean that sites running playtech software can either share the player base of party, for either poker or casino games, or run side by side, as the skins player base did after party separated them out. Of course for casino games sharing a player base isn't important in general, although it might be for sharing participation in certain promotions. The interesting question for us americans, is whether party would allow a situation with a privately held skin where that skin was known to accept americans, but which didn't share nationality info with party, thus allowing party to claim it wasn't accepting bets from americans. I'm guessing not though as other networks haven't either so far for the long term. |

[/ QUOTE ] It would be interesting, if they were able to set it up such that the playtech poker tables were integrated seamlessly with the Party Lobby, in a way that you could not tell whether it was a Party or Playtech table. [/ QUOTE ] Playtech (iPoker) pulled out of the US, and by the time they integrate Tribeca and Tain, they shouldn't have any more US players... so it doesn't seem likely that anyone would be able to setup a US facing skin on their platform. |
