Not only are you a disgusting human being, but you're an ignoramus as well. Unfortunately, Brandi doesn't have the basis for criminal complaint, since he didn't steal the money from her. She gave him the money, and he refuses to give it back. This would be a civil action, but would be hard for her to prove, and is probably not worth pursuing for the small amount involved.

You and a few others seem to have a version of events in your mind: that Brandi is nuts or a liar. But I believe her because her description of how the Captain went about it makes a lot of sense:

Essentially, he wanted to sleep with her (of course). But he knew the only way she'd agree to it was if he had some hold over her. Hence he suckered her into giving him her money, and only after that did he then try any funny business with her.

Now she was stuck, cause she couldn't just walk away and lose her money. So she had to hang around him. He gave her 3K as a sign of good faith, thinking that might entice her to sleep with him. When she still wouldn't, he just said screw you, and kept the money.

Looked at in that context, her story makes a lot of sense, and sounds believable. And I'm sure this is the kind of manipulating and controlling strategy that this scumbag has pulled before. It's like pimps getting women addicted to drugs so they can control them.
