Call. BB's range is even looser given that this is SB v BB. You are likely way ahead.

Easy call. He's not overpushing QQ+. AJ+, and a whole bunch of pocket pairs will do this along with some other stupid crap.

Funny you mentioned this, almost identical thing happened to me earlier and I instacalled hoping to see AJ, I got my wish. Of course he hit the 3 outer, but as they like to say, "that's poker."

True, I know I'm only like a 70-30 favorite there. Despite the math showing otherwise sometimes I feel safe against two overs then I do against one.

Thanks for the responses............
I did in fact call. Never thought i would be behind, couldn't even see AK played that way with the blinds still low. Small pocket pair did cross my mind when i called. Villian showed a strangely played push with KK. |

Re: (12) 6 max- level 2: JJ vs. push
I'd call in a heart beat. JJ blind vs blind is huge. His range is probably wider than you think just because it's bvb. Moreover, if he had QQ-AA he would almost always make a smaller raise to get more value. You'll see AK, AQ, a lot of pairs, and possibly even some weaker hands at a $12 I would think).

Re: (12) 6 max- level 2: JJ vs. push
...calls instantly. Especially at the $12's, I'd imagine your opponents will wet themselves over 55 in that spot. If he's got one of the three hands that beats you, there's a pretty good chance you should be going broke on the hand no matter what your opponent does preflop (except fold of course).

Re: (12) 6 max- level 2: JJ vs. push
I actually don't mind his play that much. Here's why. It doesn't have to work all that often to be hugely +EV. Basically, the 4 BB he takes pushing there aren't that far below what he should be averaging with that hand if you fold, and he's got to be 65% at least against the average low-limit opponent's calling range there, so there's another +15 BB when he gets called. Even if he gets called less than half the time, it's still close to 10 BB per hand.
