Hamas, A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION, gains power through Palestinian elections and rejects every agreement in which Israel is transfering authority to Palestinians, refuses to recognize Israel, and openly calls for the destruction of Israel and death to all jews. Yes, Bill, that is audacious. But keep sympathizing with the terrorists... all the cool people do it.

IRA.
That is my only argument ever with the palestinian israel situation. The british government won peace in northern ireland when they talked with the IRA and let them take some power. The only counter argument is that the IRA was willing to give up arms in return, but the british government didnt attack the irish in nearly the same way. Oh, and i make my standard point that the IRA were largely funded by Irish Americans.

As someone already said Hammas' basic tennants or whatever you want to call them call for the complete destruction of Israel and all Jews. It's not like this is included in there for show. They have proven time and again that they are completely serious. I've never understood how Israel is supposed to negotiate with these people when they won't even give one inch on any of that stuff. I could be wrong, but I don't think anywhere in the IRA's tennants it called for the destruction of England and all English should be burned at the stake in the name of Mary.

IIRC the IRA wanted all brits removed from Ireland and the north and south of Ireland united as a Catholic state.
This is why its called negotiating from extremes.
