Default How to be a very good HU Player?

I "dislike" Cash Games and Tournaments, not the Game itself (Texas Hold Em) but it makes me boring to wait for Action.
Wich Books should i read for HU-NLHE (or maybe FL)?
Good Tips/Links are also welcome.

Heads-up, you get to play every hand. Even when you fold, you immediately start the next hand. If you love action or tend to get bored at full-table games and play too many hands, this is the game for you.

My Skills in Hold Em are "a bit better then a Fish".
I hope you can understand my poorly English (no problem to read English books) and have good Informations for me .

Play like 1000 games at the $10 limit and read this forum daily. Welcome.

Good advice, play lots of hands...also a very good way to learn HU play is to observe the high stakes games and really analyze their betting patterns and attempt to mimic them in your own games.

Exec,

Playing 1000 games will not do anything for you unless you learn from what you're doing. I mentioned this in another threat, but I think its paramount:

1. Before you move, ask "Why?"
2. After your opponent moves, ask "Why?"
3. Play position
4. Play aggressively

And I highly suggest you analyze the games afterwards. Post the hands you werent sure about and we'll help you improve.

I've heard this could be very dangereous (atleast in CGs), because of the big difference between high stakes and low/medium stakes. What are your thoughts on this?

It can be detrimental to your game if you mimic your poker heroes on tv or online . You may get some ideas , but usually they are playing a certain way depending on the opponent they're up against which means that it may not be ideal in the dynamics of the situation you're in .

I agree.

The $5k players are considering more things than you, as an observer, and as a player, are. Its like watching a surgeon and then going out and trying to fix your ailing cat.

haha nice analogy, honestly I learned from watching the high stakes games and from playing lots of hands...I don't find there's a major difference between the higher level games (besides skill level of course), at worst you'll learn NOT to slow play and how to value bet, instead of leading out 200 on the river at 10/20 blinds on a checked down board when you river a gutshot. Just make sure to evaluate your situations and when in doubt look at the pot size to help you decide how big or little of a bet is appopriate.
