I mean they suck and cannot beat the major teams game-in and game-out

the cinderella sweet 16 runs usually lead to blow outs for the elite 8

they cannot compete. It's a delusion to think otherwise.

They should just be happy that major conferences give them an absurd portion of the profits of the NCAA tourney.

He must have not noticed that one of probably the 10 best mid-major teams historically (although mediocre this year) Miami Redhawks took the Illini down to the wire last night, and probably should have won the game.

no, I noticed

Illinois is also missing it's best two players and Peavey created a match-up nightmare for an Illini team without Brian Randle. All in all, Miami still couldn't close the deal.

Bradley can very well beat Illinois tonight.

Big deal

not that exciting that they pull off a win every now and then. They couldn't compete in a major conference having to face teams week in and week out.

Sure, they get a chance in basketball. But, that is the biggest lie of all. Their chance is equivalent to me getting Elisha Cuthbert to marry me. Sure, I've pulled my handful of big wins over my career, but I have very little chance of landing Elisha.

All I know is that I don't feel so bad about Butler beating Tulane by 3209348230948230948 anymore.

While I agree with pretty much everything you said, and I know you're an Illini fan, you got to admit it is fun cheering for mid-majors.

UNR games are pretty fun. The schedule is so weak sauce this year though. They should run the the table.

Of course this almost guarantees a loss at santa clara tonight.

Well, my little mid-major school just went into Baton Rouge and beat LSU.
