His stats were passive enough for him to slowplay KK like this, I guess. That's why I thought he would only call a river raise with hands that beat me. Comments? |

I don't bet flops like that because I can't stand a reraise. Multiway especially, there's trouble if somebody hit a set. With check/call line, I'm not losing much equity with my nutflushdraw and control pot size so that most of the money is yet to bet, if I hit my good cards. If I get reraised, I'm either playing an allin pot here or folding - neither are EV+.
Oh also, I really get no information by betting here. If I get reraised, the villain can be on a bluff (trying to push me off blank AAxx), have a good straightdraw, flushdraw, twopair, set... anything really. Most likely a set thought and that's the only hand with which he'd pay me off if I hit my flush card. If he check/calls, again I get no information - could be any of the hands mentioned above. By checking and showing weakness, I let the opponents show that they want the pot now instead of taking free cards (this is what they would probably do with flushdraw or missed flops - so I get those holdings most likely eliminated). I think check/call is the superior line here - thought I'd with higher stakes players would comment on this. |

you need to bet this flop, you should be raising more than just AAxx pf from that position. if so, just never raise EP. Why are you raising PF if u can c-bet this flop? Are you expecting an Axx or 7xx flop? I mean you can get a much better flop. If you get r/r you at least know where you are and can re-evaluate.

durrr, u want a c/r on river here? I like leading river here because I think that for future instances this gives you a change for bluffing. I think by betting 2/3-full pot you give yourself a chance to bluff in the future and getting called by worse hands. Do you think worse hands call ur c/r?

I don't bet flops like that because I can't stand a reraise. [/ QUOTE ] Strongly disagree. You have enough hand to go full strength at this pot. |
