Folded to the villain in MP who raises to $7. This is his standard open.

I make it $25 to go. Villain calls.

Villain leads for $35. I raise to $110. Villain thinks for a minute and calls.

I check behind. I don't like pushing straight/flush draws on paired boards and I doubt he folds turn after taking a long time to call flop. But the opposite could of course be true with this particular villain.

has a problem releasing hands. I dont think he fully understands implied odds, and generally focuses way too much on his own hand instead of his opponents hand.

Edit: I know I said that he doesnt release enough; but in this particular hand I could tell he has something like TT-QQ and wasnt particularly happy about his hand. So, fire again or check behind? If fire then how much?

I'd give up unless villain gets scared by huge bets. A bet here is going to look extremely suspicious because of the turn check to a decent player and he'll look you up.

Yeah. But it won't be a total defeat, you'll know how villain plays whatever the hell he was playing.
