Poker in Daytona Beach, Florida
I'll be in florida for 9 days and am planning on checking out the poker room that's in the dog track in Daytona. I was just wondering what to expect as far as the games are concerned. I know Florida has a max betting law; how does that effect the games?
Thanks |

Re: Poker in Daytona Beach, Florida
It is strictly no fold-em holdem limit poker in Daytona. bets are capped at $2 so you pay 1-2 blinds, 2 to see turn, 2 to see river, 2 after river. Can't bet enough to get anybody off a drawing hand. Can't bet $4 on turn unless you can get a raise in there to get enough money in pot to make up for all the flops you paid to see and didn't hit any part of them. You can raise 3 or 4 times (not sure which on each card) And I believe rake is taken up to $5 per hand. For a fun night to just play socially its ok but totally frustrating for the serious poker player. I live here in Daytona and never go out to the dog track once I learned proper play. Have to fly to vegas every 3 or 4 months to get my fix. I have never played the tournaments at the dog track so I can't help you with info there.
