Re: 5/10 bottom set on flush board turn minraise then push
[ QUOTE ]
Wow I appreciate the long response joker but I think a turn push will get called by flushes or higher sets only. Also, whats marginal about the preflop raise? Its good to keep people guessing, I want to see a flop with the pocket pair but yet don't want to open limp in a 4 handed game. [/ QUOTE ] Yea you are right I apologize about that I miss spoke. Didnt realize it was a 4 handed game. I was dead as I was writing that. Think it was 4am. Anyway, yea you were in a tough spot from the flop on. Why I said you were either going to go broke or win a small pot given the texture of the flop. Your absolutely right about pushing on the turn but my thought is that there are so many other possible combinations of hands that he could have that you couldnt let him make you a calling station. You had to somehow try and find a way to define the situation. Once you do that you then will have to play accordingly. The thing that also made this a tough decision was that your opponent was not really deep. Had he been a little deeper you may have had a few more options but as it was he was probably shoving with two pair, set or the flush because of the odds the pot was offering him. But as it was I couldnt see him playing a bigger set or the flush like that, then that goes back to would your opponent call you with the 2nd best flush on the flop. Who knows, but like I said I dont know for sure since I know absoultely nothing about him. But just as a generalization if he did have such a huge hand why push a bet that seems designed to force you out. Build a pot slowly. Anyway, I am assuming that you folded to the river bet. I believe there was a definent call given that you were getting 3 to 1 and not 100%sure he had a bigger set or the flush. Did he show? Let me know if you would. Good luck! |

Re: 5/10 bottom set on flush board turn minraise then push
He did build the pot with that turn min-raise. He wasn't trying to push me out and thats why his river bet was so tempting to call because he'd built up a big pot. I folded.

38/15, no read, 3:1, I call.
I probably just push the turn though but bet harder on flop and turn. |
