Sanity check: KK vs river raise on a scary board
2/4 on 'Stars. Opponents involved seem about midrange on the Loose-tight, passive-aggressive continuum, but like most at this level, will play most aces from most positions. I am likely perceived as somewhat tight, but very aggro.
I'm in the SB with K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Folded to MP1 who raises, folded to CO who cold calls, Button folds, I 3-bet, BB folds, MP1 & CO call. 3 to the flop for 10 sb Flop: A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I bet, both call. 3 to the turn for 6.5 bb Turn: 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I bet, both call. (9.5 bb) River: T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I doubt an better hand folds or a worse hand calls so I check, intending to call. I check, MP1 bets, CO raises, I..........? results later. Comments on all streets appreciated. |

Re: Sanity check: KK vs river raise on a scary board
Unless I had strong stats/reads on these players, I would fold this and only feel mildly stupid if they showed down worse hands.
Seems like a really easy fold. |

I don't care if they both hand 66, if you routinely call 2 cold not closing the action on this board, you will lose a lot in this situation. |

Re: Sanity check: KK vs river raise on a scary board
easy river fold.
I might have checked the turn to see what happens. If it goes bet-call or bet-raise, you can probably fold and save yourself a bet. I know there is the threat of giving a free card to a flush draw, but with the A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] already acounted for, it's not all that likely that one is out, which means that its that much more likely that someone has an A. |

Re: Sanity check: KK vs river raise on a scary board
Goober makes a good point about the flush draw.
As others said, this is an easy fold. There's literally nothing that could be bet and raised that you can beat. You can't beat an A or a T. The turn is a difficult situation that I think should be examined further though. You are first to act on the turn, which comes a blank. Is the fact that there's an A on board and two callers enough to just give up on the turn? With one caller on the flop, you might be able to make a case for somebody calling down with a medium pair or a draw or even a pair of tens. But two? Any thoughts on this? Maybe the turn is a situation where you should just save a bet. |

Re: Sanity check: KK vs river raise on a scary board
easy dump IMO... facing 2 here and getting 7 to 1 on the double bet, not to even mention the chance of mp1 3 betting etc...

RESULTS
Well 7 out of 7 ain't bad. My sanity is confirmed. I folded (and probably only would have called 1 if it went bet-fold.
CO showed 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] after raising with his busted draw. MP1 showed Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and took down the pot. I post sanity checks to reinforce not being results-oriented.
