Default Playing full time / pro

I am about to graduate college and am thinking about spending a year playing poker in order to save up money to pursue a law degree or phd. How difficult is it to actually play full time for a while? Possible issues include:
- 40 hrs a week of poker = burnout
- Downswings are very stressful if br is used to pay rent
- Job is extremely antisocial and provides no useful experience for future career
- No health/dental insurance coverage

With all these things in mind, I decided that I don't want to do this unless I can make at least 120,000 in a year. Suppose that with various bonuses and significant rb I run exactly 2bb/100 playing 3 tables SH at a time at 5/10, and that I am currently at 5/10 b/c I don't yet have the br for 10/20 (which is to say, I may eventually be able to play higher). Is it possible to make 120,000+ without burning out?

I play 90 hours a week

I wouldn't do this unless you are already a significant winner over a large number of hands.

wtf true.

how many hands/month?

can I ask what limits you're playing?

OP, 120k at 5/10 is probably pretty tough to guarantee. I'd get a job and play pt, but that's just me.

If you 4-table 5/10 6-max for about 1.8BB/100, that's about $80 an hour plus rakeback. Even discounting rakeback, if you make $80 an hour for 40 hours, that's $3200 a week. Now if you only play 40 weeks out of a 52-week year, that's still over 120K for the year.

assumptions:
A. you never have to move down
B. you actually run at 1.8bb/100 for the year and not .9 (see josh w)
C. you actually play 40 hrs/wk

part time is where it's at if you ask me.

1.8 is a reasonable winrate, but reasonable doesn't mean it's something you can count on.

josh w posts here, read through his posts for the last month or so and I think you'll catch my drift
