RIP Nikki Sudden
News Story
People were finally buying his records too. Very sad. Check out his home page for mp3s and samples. Esp. check out the two Swell Maps songs...they were Thurston Moore's favorite band in HS and pretty much invented the whole slacker indie rock thing in the mid 70s. Good Summary of their Career His solo stuff is awesome too...he is one of the rare NY punk rockers who maganged to age gracefully while making a sort of semi-living from playing music. I can count musicians who make more than 3 good albums on one hand, and he was the thumb. Peace. --GA |

[/ QUOTE ] I was fortunate enough to get to see him while he was on a European tour in '86 with Thin White Rope. Small venue, damn near packed to the gills, and he was so compelling even my then wife (who was not a NYC punk fan) enjoyed it. This is a sad day. |
