1/2 6m Overpair Fold
I'm a limit player that's just starting to learn some no limit (playing shorthanded only), so this is my first post here. My turn play was really weak, and by the river even 78 got there. What do you do here on the turn?
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx CO ($107.75) Button ($98.50) SB ($136.80) BB ($102.20) UTG ($216.56) Hero ($218.80) Preflop: Hero is MP with T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.50. UTG calls $1, Hero raises to $5, 3 folds, BB calls $4, UTG calls $4. Flop: ($15.50) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) BB checks, UTG bets $8, Hero raises to $24, BB folds, UTG calls $16. Turn: ($63.50) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG checks, Hero bets $22, UTG calls $22. River: ($107.50) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG bets $25, Hero folds. Final Pot: $132.50 I'm also kinda curious on my stats, since they are completely different from limit (at which I've been playing from 10/20 to 30/60). I've only been playing the 6-max games and my stats over about 10k hands are VPIP: 26.6 PFR: 16.9 WTSD: 20.89 (this stat has been falling as I've been getting better) AF: 2.28 (total) Are these in the right ballpark? Too tight/loose? Thanks for the feedback. |

Re: 1/2 6m Overpair Fold
For 6max you'll most likely level off at 30/20 or so. That said, your VPIP and PFR look fine. Is your AF total including preflop? If so, thats fine. If its just postflop you might wanna get that a little higher, but dont just concentrate on bumping stats, do what's natural.
As for the hand, I'd check behind on the turn and call a small bet on the river. A few reasons would be to keep the pot small because you only have a very mediocre hand, and to allow him to bluff on the river if he's got air. Gets you a cheap showdown. |

Checking the turn and calling a small bet sounds reasonable, I was trying to avoid giving a free card to a straight draw or if somehow he made it to the turn with clubs. Thanks for the response. |

Bet more on the turn, call river as played.

Re: 1/2 6m Overpair Fold
First of all, youre playing .50/$1 NL ...not $1/$2 NL
Raising that much in these small stakes will get you killed. This opinion is not shared by most 2+2ers, but my database says otherwise. Of course my database (like poker in general) is full of morons. |

Re: 1/2 6m Overpair Fold
Check turn.
You pretty much have to call the river here getting 5 to 1. |

Re: 1/2 6m Overpair Fold
Once I got to that point I'd call the river for sure, but obviously wouldn't be expecting to win the pot. |

Sorry about the limits, I was playing some 1/2 as well and got this hand mixed up with them. |
