Do we bet/call? [/ QUOTE ] Yes, you can just stop here. It allows you to misrepresent your hand a little, get a little more money in against a worse draw, and win the pot when no one has a piece. Also, considering this is in the very upper range of draws you could have on this flop, it's good metagame to be leading out with some kind of draw to disguise your sets later. |

I fold preflop, and usually bet the flop, although it's close.

A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] is a far better hand for all the obvious reasons, but i still wouldnt get carried away with this hand UTG
bet the flop and see what happens |

There's a straight on board, i always lead this when there's not the straight(s). [/ QUOTE ] the made straight is less of a problem here than top set board: Jd8cTd Hand Pot equity Wins Ties Ad7c2cKd 45.59% 272,683 1,688 q9** 54.41% 325,629 1,688 board: Jd8cTd Hand Pot equity Wins Ties Ad7c2cKd 36.22% 216,375 1,949 JJ** 63.78% 381,676 1,949 for this reason its often good to play top set very agressivly on straight/draw heavy boards, people often forget when they flop top set on a drawy board, that they have the best available draw, and rarely have less than 40% equity HU |

Re: How to play multiway flops when you catch a piece, but not all of
bet call is fine given stack sizes, esp. considering we have backdoor clubs.
