there really were a few times in reno where it felt like 3/4 of the table was just willing to pay 15$ an orbit to not be alone while waiting for death. [/ QUOTE ] LOL |

Ah, Reno: transient serial killers and the smell of cheap disinfectant. Good times.
Thanks - great read. |

Re: TR: 10-20 LHE at The Peppermill, Reno (WARNING: LONG TR IS LOOOONG)
Nice report.
Note to all that the PM is quite different when they have a tourney going. OP picked up on this, but its like night and day. I don't usually play limit, but I'm sure the crowd during the tourneys is different than the usual players. After playing in Vegas, LA and the Bay area, I have come to the conclusion that if you can win regularly in Reno that you can win anywhere. The locals here, both in tourneys and cash games, are (unfortunately for me) generally very solid players and probably long term winners. Since donating tourists are more common in Vegas, etc it makes our games just a bit tougher. |

[/ QUOTE ] i completely agree pretty much, thats the impression i came away with at least. in vegas you have regs who basically just sit back and wait for dead money. in reno, there doesnt seem to be much dead money, so you really have a lot of players who are all very, very rocky and do not get out of line often at all. in the bay, the games can certainly be rocky but can also become insanely aggressive, which is either a blessing or a curse depending on how youre running, but i find them much more dynamic than the reno games i saw, plus i feel that bay area players are more prone to making very aggressive moves based on reads and/or position. i didnt see much of that at all from the players i perceived to be regs in reno. |

God Reno sucks so bad. Much better just to drive into Tahoe as the games and atmosphere are way better. Also, I think its a prerequisite to have a limp if you live in Reno... what a hell hole.
