Re: Q7s MONSTER hand
this always comes up. it's kind of hard to find the 67% w/o adding some pretty weird hands that call the 3-bet and call the river.

Re: Q7s MONSTER hand
P.S. I didn't see the flush draw (that we have one) and I don't think it matters.

Re: Q7s MONSTER hand
Ok so I didn't really play this hand, it was Stoxtrader... directly from the "hands with Stox" section of his book. I tend to agree with Scary Tiger on this one, hence I posted the hand.

Re: Q7s MONSTER hand
you'll get high equity if you include hands like 66, 77, K5o, A5o, K8o, 99, 76, and like every possible flush draw combo. the fact is that these hands don't always play like this, all the worse made hands don't always call down, and having the initiative against certain worse hands matters a lot on the river. if he is raising for a free showdown with AK/AJ/AT, 3-betting is bad because he'd probably value bet a rivered pair, but he could easily fold to the turn 3-bet.
on the other hand, you really don't have to discount AQ, KQ, QJ, QT, Q9, Q8, Q7, QQ, 88, or 55 whatsoever. |

Re: Q7s MONSTER hand
I haven't read Stox's book. In the games I play, with nothing more than you provide in your original post, I'd say not giving more action is bad. I'm skeptical that not giving more action in an unknown, hypothetical online game, is a good approach regardless.
