Well, I know this is a pretty easy fold against most...but it does beg the question. Why are we betting if we're almost always folding to a raise? Not saying I can think of a better line, but turning TT into a bluff kinda sucks.

If I'm 3betting with the higher end of the medium pairs, then I should be happy to see a low flop. So why does every flop without a set scare the hell out of me? |

When they raise it's a different situation and we can fold against an unknown, doesnt mean b/f turns our hand into a bluff |

Maybe sometimes A9s/9Ts if they tend to call 3-bets light, but the point is still kinda the same. Protecting from over-cards seems like one of the better reasons, but this bet just doesn't seem to extract much from worse very often IME. I also agree they won't always raise here, but a flat call can be just as scary...and now we end up lost OOP in a bloated pot. I still think betting is probably best, but it's just kind of a weird spot that seems to come up fairly often w/ 99-JJ. |
