Full Tilt $50
no reads, new table. I have been either running bad or I still don't know what I am doing at nl. I have a couple hands to post today, here is one, probably simple. But I have yet to make any real mony off of my sets, this is the most I have made in a while, usually I lead the flop and everyone folds. Would anyone have just smooth called flop and raised the turn or this is ok?

Re: Full Tilt $50
Slow down, it's not that dangerous of a flop.
Lead the turn or check/call turn lead river. |

I knew it as soon as I did it. thanks [/ QUOTE ] Basically, on this flop you really aren't looking to protect your hand--at least right now. You want him to commit himself to this pot with a holding you have crushed. Essentially, you need to play this hand in a way that gives him a difficult decision not an easy one--he is more likely to make a costly error when faced with a more difficult problem. ness |

Re: Full Tilt $50
This is a great place for a Stop N Go or check raise all-in on the turn.

Do you typically make this move on dry boards, attempting to trap your opponent with a weaker made hand? Do you make this move to protect hands on wet boards? ness |

Re: Full Tilt $50
Ness, look at stack sizes. When villain bets the turn, he has next to nothing left in his stack (he may even do the pushing for us). I want it all in before the river.
Deeper stacks and I lead turn most all the time. If the board were coordinated I would definitely play the set faster becuase it's likely villain already has a second best hand that could improve and beat me. I will check raise against guys who can't drop an overpair or against maniacs who like to try to bet me out to the pot. In fact, sometimes I like to min-check raise maniacs becuase it usually ticks them off and they push. |
