Default Explain this reasoning to me, and is it common?

6 max 1/2 blinds, effective stacks 150BB.

I have J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

I raise $8 first in from MP, and get 2 callers the button and the SB.

Flop comes A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

SB bets $20, I make it $70, Button calls, SB folds.

Turn comes 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], pot is ~$186

I bet $120, Button pushes, I call

River is a blank and I win with the str8 over a set of 9's

Then this happens:

SB: wow nh
Me: thks
Button: screw you
Me:
SB: glad I folded my set
Me: ????
SB: I hd set of 7's
Me: what u think i had?
SB: a draw 2 the flush
Me: so why fold when u were ahead?
SB: one of u was bound to hit. Anyway I was right.
Me: yeah,

I don't know if this was just bs or genuine. What do you think?

I disagree with this, I think there are many useful and potentially +EV nuggets that you can glean from the chat log every now and then. Turning off chat is like wearing headphones at the poker table (not the best analogy I know,) but the point is you're ignoring information that could be valuable.

I think what he's saying is BS, in that I don't believe he had a set. His reasoning is consistent with donks though. One of my (losing) friends will sometimes play passively with TPGK because he KNOWS an ace is going to hit on the turn or river, it ALWAYS does. I've tried to help him, but he doesn't listen.

For me it is mostly distracting to have chat turned on. Instead of watching the play when i am not involved in a hand i watch the chat even if the chat is usually just bs.

The most useful thing i can remember seeing in the chat was when somebody openpushed preflop and said oops instantly. Not suprisingly he had AA. He still got a caller though!

Just BS. No way he folds a set.

lol he's FOS (full of sarcasm)and did not have a set. If he had a set he had more outs for a fullhouse than you did for a flush...

Yes, I think poor reasoning is common among many of the villians we face.

If you believe he folded a set, my friend Idi has a few deals you might be interested in.
