I think TDS is more consistently funny -- e.g. pretty much money in the bank on any given night -- but when TCR is *on*, it's heads and shoulders better.
Flame away. |

I think TCR sorta gets old. I agree that looking at one show it might be funnier. But how he talks and acts sorta gets old.

I think Colbert Report is funnier. But the show does seem very formulaic. I miss the Even Stevphen segments on The Daily Show.

[/ QUOTE ] I agree with this whole heartedly. Colbert is either funny as hell or just flat. Gold or iron. I like the Colbet Report better than the Daily Show but I also think that the Daily show is in decline. |

The Colbert Repoir sucks. Colbert is only funny when he has 5 minute segments on The Daily Show like he use to. Give him a half hour, and his suckiness is revealed.

He was [censored] great on TDS. I only watched the first few Colbert Reports and didn't think it was that great for a full half hour, haven't really watched it since. It was definitely a bummer because I was expecting good things.

I was actually just thinking of this and discussed it with a friend. I do feel the Colbert Report has surpassed The Daily Show. He's just a funny guy. His style could get old quick though, I don't watch it every day.

The Colbert report is funnier.
Then again, I don't find JS funny all the time. In particular, I don't like his little high-pitched whining that he likes to do during his monologue. I also think he tends to botch his interviews. Sometimes just by making jokes that bomb, and sometimes by kissing ass too much. I do like his interviews that get hard-hitting though. I think Colbert is a better comedic tallent. I also tend to prefer his interviews, which are faster-paced and often put the guest in silly situations. Some of the skits that he does, such as debating himself, are no good though. |

Colbert's "Better Know a District" interviews are just about the funniest thing on TV. |
