Live: winning , Online: losing

I am an avid 10/20 player at Foxwoods, and play in every local tourney, ring game, and home game I can get to. During the summer I play live at least 4 x per week. My job doesn't allow me the time to play live in the winter, so I bought a computer in Dec. to continue to build the bank roll I started this summer (about 7g since july). In the beginning (online) my winnings continued. Now though, it's like all hope is lost.

Playing online the last three weeks i have been getting crushed. I did not go on tilt; if anything i have played tighter during the losing streak. Just this last week I went 1/13 with AA & 0 for 8 with KK. It's like a running joke, watching some guy go runner runner on me and then give it out to everyone else. (It really is EVERYTIME!)
online poker is still poker...is there anyone else who can relate to being a good AND winning player live, but losing to suck-outs over and over again online - no matter what limit you play? And how do you/did you turn it around? I love the game, but cannot continue to suffer these beats, emotionally its killing me!

what level/site are you playing?

I play the 10/20 at foxwoods a lot, and I'll tell you this: I'm not sure you can find a game softer than that one online, at any site, at anything higher than .50/1.

This is pertty standard situation - winning live and losing online. That's because live is infinitely easier to beat.

The reason why you are having trouble online is because you are a weak player for the limits you play. Party 5/10 is like 30/60 or 40/80 live approximately.

thanks for the replies, so i should proably drop down on line.
but I honestly dont feel that i was over matched or being outplayed. I honestly was getting constantly sucked out on, but losing is losing. even if aa gets cracked 12 times in a row.

My local 5/10 plays about like the .05/.10 on Pokerstars... I think 10/20 is comparable to about a 1/2 game online... Start there.

I also play online and just started playing at my local casino. I've never really been able to beat anything online above 1/2 or $50NL, but I am crushing my B&Ms 5/10 game. Live is much, much easier than online. Also in my case I have less than 1000 hands live and am running hot (4BB/hr), not sure how long you have played but considering that 20K hands is like 3 months live you could also be on a decent sized upswing live.

Why are live games easier than online? I have seen this written many times, but would think that anyone going out of their way to play at a B&M would be better.

Its rigged. No seriously, it could be you are playing against tougher competition. It could be variance. How many hands have you played online? Just don't don't overestimate your skill when your hands are always holding up.

Probably because most people are at a casino to gamble. Lots of people are just playing poker instead of blackjack. Also there are people who arent completly retarded but dont have the patience to sit around and only play 3-5 hands an hour. If you have the skill and patience, B&M is free money.
