Default What color is a tennis ball? (don\'t cheat!)

When someone asked me this question today, I looked at him like he was a complete idiot. 'What color is a stop sign?' I joked. 'What color is the tip of a black marker?' etc etc.

Apparently there is more than one knee-jerk reaction to this question... yes I know that you can make a tennis ball in any color and that there are different kinds of tennis balls.

When you think of a tennis ball, what color is the ball that pops into your head?

It's clearly yellow. If you think it's green, look at a tennis ball again.

if it were green, you'd have a hard time seeing it since the court is green.

There are different shades of green. You know what I'm saying?

I've seen tennis balls that are the light green, the a brighter yellow, like a highlighter. But most of the ones I've seen are light green.

dt,

When I read your thread, my initial thought was "WTF is this silliness? Everyone knows a tennis ball is yellow." But, curiosity got the best of me, so I voted.

Wow.

Yellow is making a push and has taken the lead. There is a god.

That's funny. I had this exact same thought, except replace "yellow" with "green."

Wow, indeed.

They are generally green, I played tennis in high school and they were always green, yes they do use yellow on grass at times and sometimes even blue indoor or on clay
