Default check behind or bet for value?

The turn, that is.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (7 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

SB ($34.61)
BB ($20.63)
Hero ($25)
MP1 ($20.75)
MP2 ($26.49)
CO ($8.40)
Button ($10.25)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.10.

That board is too draw heavy to check. I like the way you played the turn and river.

I think the turn is fine, but does anyone think OP is missing a value bet on the river? Given the PF action, it seems very unlikely that you are up against a better king. His check on the turn also seems to indicate weakness. I value bet river, between $15-$25.

Why bet then? A missed draw isn't paying off. what worse hand calls here? If you have villain on a range that will call a push with a worse hand then I will change my answer.

This is a good point. I probably toss out to many 'value' bets on the river that will only get called by better hands.

I think villan calls enough times with KJ/K9 or A8 to make a value bet profitable - I bet $10 on the river and re-evaluate to a c/r and fold to a c/push

bet more on turn.

Plus this isn't a bad spot for a river value bet.

villian likely has either QJ/J9 or a worse king, maybe even something like A10. The way the hand played I think the river is a pretty easy value bet.
