Central and South American real estate
Anyone have experience in these markets? I've heard good things about real estate investment oppurtunities in these areas.

Re: Central and South American real estate
I looked into doing this about a year ago but ultimately decided against it.
Where I was looking (Argentina, Brazil), there were well established companies that help you look for real estate, form holding companies if needed, find lawyers, file papers, furnish, and then rent out. Of course they take a nice cut of monthly rent. I decided against it b/c it was too illiquid, didn't really make sense financially for me, and the deal breaker was I didn't trust anyone. Without being able to look after my investments frequently, I couldn't pull the trigger. |

Re: Central and South American real estate
Lately, I've been reading a lot of good things about Nicaragua from a publication called International Living. I'm sure you can get a lot of info on Brazil and Argentina, too.
