Ask Shant about T-shirts
I design and screenprint my own shirts. I sell them online, and sometimes in stores. I have t-shirts that I've had since I was a kid because I liked the designs. I have bought t-shirts that don't fit me. I have spent hours at thrift stores looking through boxes of t-shirts. I collect t-shirts. I am making a quilt out of some of my favorites. I have framed and hung t-shirts on walls. I own books about t-shirts. I have impeccable taste in t-shirts and am complimented frequently on ones I am wearing.
Now that you know I'm qualified, go ahead and ask me some stuff. If you are planning on buying some t-shirts online, give me some links and I'll let you borrow my awesome taste. If you need some t-shirt reccomendations, give me some stuff you like and I'll find you some rad ones, new or used. |

Re: Ask Shant about T-shirts
[ QUOTE ]
What's the most offensive T-Shirt you ever saw? [/ QUOTE ] I've seen a lot of ugly shirts like the "God Hates [censored]" and just ugly racist stuff. Also a lot of shirts on tshirthell.com are just super offensive for the sake of being offensive. Some of those shirts that poke fun at rape or make fun of race/religion are gross, but that's what comes with the t-shirt being a medium for messages. [ QUOTE ] What's the funniest T-Shirt you ever saw? [/ QUOTE ] This was is really tough because I've seen a lot of shirts that made me laugh and I actually walked up and talked to people about. Not those corny one-liner type shirts but just a t-shirt in the appropriate context or with a really good image is funny. Personally for me whenever I think of funny t-shirts I think of the time I went to Goodwill before a party and found a bright red shirt that said, "This shirt makes things happen." I wore it to the house party and very early into the party while people were asking what was going to happen because of the shirt, my knee just completely gave out. A muscle got pulled/torn and my entire kneecap twisted to the side of my leg. I fell to the floor from the pain and everyone was just standing around looking at me. I felt down my leg and felt where my kneecap was and since I was drunk I just pushed it and popped it back into place which hurt more. I spent the next 20 minutes or so trying to enjoy the party hobbling around on some random guy's cane, but I eventually had to go to my friend's room and pass out on her bed because it hurt too much. I haven't worn that shirt again but everytime I see it hanging in the closet it makes me laugh. |

Re: Ask Shant about T-shirts
Shant -
I never put any of my t-shirts in the dryer because they invariably shrink and become unwearable. I'm 6'2" and you know how they do - they shrink lengthwise but somehow become wider. I usually get XL, but XXLs are only wider, not longer. Shirts that don't go through the dryer are like 9 times less comfortable than shirts that do. What's the solution? CE P.S. This is one of my favorite t-shirts, only I have it with the colors reversed. |
