Re: ATo...um, not sure about this
Cap preflop. Bet the river for value. Flop and turn are good.

Please explain the preflop cap advice..?? [/ QUOTE ] We're capping preflop because no one but the sb has shown any strength. We don't worry about the sb because he doesn't have anything left after that 3-bet. So on the cap we get his 25 cents in, we also get the other worse hands to put more money in the pot. |

Re: ATo...um, not sure about this
Why are we raising this flop against an EP limper who was willing to put in many bets passively and has now just shown aggression?
The river seems like a good check, you're against two people and OESD as well as a flush draw have both hit. |

[/ QUOTE ] 1) There is a solid chance we have the the best hand. 2) The pot is big and raising will increase our chances of winning by making it harder for the CO to see the flop with a weak draw. |

CO's coldcall really made me think he'd been chasing a flush, though, and I didn't particularly feel like being raised. As far as capping preflop...because SB was stacking off? To be fair, that didn't really occur to me until the flop. Otherwise, I don't think I'm capping ATo preflop here. |

Re: ATo...um, not sure about this
I certainly wouldn't be ecstatic about the river card, since the two obvious draws just hit. (It is a little reassuring that two of the big hearts, inluding the ace, are accounted for though.)
In any event, if you won, I suspect it was the river card that bailed you out. (Apparently CO had a jack instead of a draw, although I suppose maybe his draw was AK/AQ and he didn't bet that on the river. And a stubbornly played pocket underpair can't be ruled out, I guess.) For his part, I'd imagine UTG was probably betting top pair on the flop, but I like your raise anyway. |

Re: ATo...um, not sure about this
In my opinion, with this many people in, capping preflop with so-so offsuit big cards isn't worth the bother.
I might not have raised in the first place third in, actually. |
