Default stopping chat cheats

I posted this in another forum, but it was liked becaue the moderator didn't agree with my stance. Hopefully, it won't be locked here and a discussion of the different forms of chat cheating will be allowed to flourish:

....

I play mostly $2/4 NL and have run into a couple of players that like to comment on my play during a hand. I consider this a subtle form of cheating and I'm glad to see that Party agrees with me.

Most recently, NL_DERB has been an offender, as the following example shows:

Game #3772712809 starts.

#Game No : 3772712809
***** Hand History for Game 3772712809 *****

Seat 2: pjlfc ( $344.21 )
Seat 3: Maddux_1234 ( $743.45 )
Seat 5: kinger111 ( $1065.69 )
Seat 6: NL_DERB ( $699.70 )
Seat 4: EliotSpitzer ( $400 )
pjlfc posts small blind [$2].
Maddux_1234 posts big blind [$4].
>You have options at Ertholmene (No DP) Table!.
EliotSpitzer posts big blind [$4].
** Dealing down cards **

EliotSpitzer checks.
kinger111 calls [$4].
>You have options at Ertholmene (No DP) Table!.
NL_DERB raises [$20].
kcpitt calls [$20].
pjlfc calls [$18].
Maddux_1234 folds.
EliotSpitzer raises [$141.78].
kinger111 folds.
NL_DERB folds.
NL_DERB: watch out for eliot, hes a hit and run specialist
kcpitt folds.
>You have options at Speed Mathematicians Table!.
pjlfc folds.
EliotSpitzer does not show cards.
EliotSpitzer wins $213.78

I reported this incident to Party and just a few hours later received the following response:

"Thank you for contacting us.

We have investigated your complaint regarding 'NL_DERB' and have proceeded to block the chat facility of that player for a specific period.

Thank you once again for bringing this issue to our attention.

Contact us anytime, we are available around the clock to assist you with your account related questions and suggestions."

Party has once again pleasantly surprised me with their stance on cheating. I liked the way they dealt with the ZeeJustin situation and I'm satisfied with the way they handled this chat cheating situation.

I'm posting this here so others will know that you don't need to put up with players commenting on your play during a hand. Also, I'm sure that many other chat abusers post here and this is a warning to clean up your act so that I don't have to report you also.

Friendly banter between hands is fine, but commenting on a player's hand during play would not be tolerated at a B&M and I'm glad to see that it is not tolerated at Party, either.

It's cheating because he is commenting on my play during the hand with the intent to change how other players still left to act play against me. It doesn't surprise me that many of you "new-breed" Internet players do not understand that this is cheating. That is why I posted it so that you in the younger generation can be educated.

Of course you cant comment on someones play in a hand, but calling someone a hit and run specialist isnt really telling anybody anything about how to play that particular hand. All it tells them is that when you win a big hand you're going to leave. BFD.

You are going to have a tough time finding people who agree with you on this one. Its funny that party agreed with you, and only helps to prove the rest of us right.

"new-breed" internet players as opposed to old breed internet players or as opposed to b&m?

It's right here:

NL_DERB folds.
NL_DERB: watch out for eliot, hes a hit and run specialist
kcpitt folds.

He's commenting on my play during the hand in a manner likely to induce others to play differently against me. This would not be tolerated at a B&M and I'm pleased to see that it won't be tolerated at Party.

Let me be clear: I was surprised by Party's actions because their customer service has a bad reputation. However, when it comes to cracking down on cheaters, Party is head and shoulders above Stars.

The rule is one player per hand. Thus, when you comment on another player's play during the hand, that is cheating and I'm glad to see that Party took action. Do you honestly think you could get away with this at a B&M? I think not.
