I hope it's not in the Southern Hemisphere, though thatwould make a good vacation one day.

She's one month old.

these things are pretty much a scam. basically it's only officially named after your daughter to whomever recognizes the database of the particular company you purchased from. also, I wouldn't be surprised if they resold stars or made them up completely.

Yeah, because there just aren't that many stars out there on the market.

They would have absolutely no need to do either of these things.

According to the extensive research I have conducted, namely looking at this site, there are only about 6000 stars visible to the naked eye, so they probably do have to resell them or make them up or they just sell you a star that you can't see even if it is real.

This is one of those things that while I think the guys who sell the star naming are kinda slimey, it doens't really matter if the person you do it for think it's awesome.

I agree. I would think this a [censored] gift, but when your daughter is a little older she will love it. And then she will grow a even older and think it was stupid, but still really sweet.

yes, because there aren't that many out there to choose from, so they might have to resell the same ones.
