Stars 150. TOUGH decision. TT in SB.
PokerStars Game #4302541559: Tournament #21184659, Hold'em No Limit - Level VI (100/200) - 2006/03/15 - 22:35:02 (ET)

If you dont know, Kuzak is a very good player whom I have played against many times in this tournament and 200 sit & go. Why didn't he reraise? Villain only had 700 behind. Should I call, raise.... anyone advocate a fold? |

Re: Stars 150. TOUGH decision. TT in SB.
Both players' play here makes me nervous holding 1010. UTG+1 not pushing here is very suspicious. With 7BBs and a 3BB raise makes me think QQ/KK+. A good player flat calling on the button and not pushing to isolate is a also (as you alluded to) very suspicious- I think KK/AA. I think you have to call here and play your 1010 for set value. The problem is when the flop comes rags and UTG+1 pushes and if Kusak just flat calls. I don't like it, but if that scenario unfolds, I think I'm folding here. I think given the information we have here, playing this hand for set value is the way to go. I just can't see pushing PF ending up in a coinflip or dominating either player.
I would like to here what the flop action is if you just called. |

Re: Stars 150. TOUGH decision. TT in SB.
that raise sure looks fishy, and you def don't have implied odds to flop a set.
but TT sure is a cool hand. i dunno man. make funny faces at your computer and then click fold? or call and check any flop to see what those other cool cats dude -- if you can build a sidepot with the caller maybe its worth playing? i think a raise is probably the worst play. |

Re: Stars 150. TOUGH decision. TT in SB.
Here's what I think:
No reason to give too much credit to utg. His range could be anything reasonable (AA-99, AK AQ) to junk (Ax-etc.). How good is Kuzak? I don't know him, although I play alot of 200sng's. Is he Hassan good? If so, you know you are looking at AA/KK. Any other hand you would expect to see a reraise, AK, QQ etc. Unless he thinks utg is a donkosaur. If he is not as good, you can easily widen the range. But, I still find you most likely a coinflip or crushed. Although I have a ton of respect for those advocating a push, I strongly disagree. 1/200 blinds no antes, means you have alot of time before you are in trouble. Your stack is also in good shape relative to the table. So I see no reason to shove preflop. At the same time I can not find a fold here. IMO, pretty easy call. You are getting 3to1 on a call where you very easily could have best hand. If you are up against AA/KK with Kuzak you have implied odds of his 3000 chips. No way he gets away if you do flop a set. If you do call and there are overcards and action you can easily fold. 3000 chips at 1/200 no antes leaves you plenty of time to find good hands and opportunities. 3000 chips @ 1/200 in a turbo is excellent postion with 5-minute blinds. So that being the case, easy call. I think the tougher decision is if you get a good flop. Which IMO, you should have a plan for prior to calling. I check any flop here. Especially a favorable flop. I would want to see the action of Kuzak after the likely push of the short stack. I think this is a semi-tough situation. But definitely navigable and winnable. |

Even if the raiser is a shorty, he's got a bit of time. And the caller Kuzak is a toughie. One or both may have you beat and calling off 15% of your stack to look for a set hurts here. I'd fold and wait for the next one.
