I would really like to have the options to the left again and not at the top.

Its a neat new look. I agree, an option to choose it would be interesting. I guess I am just old school and prefer the old look

I didn't mind it when it suddenly got wide for a second but now it got super narrow and ridiculous looking; it takes up only 1/3 of my 1600x1200 screen and has become very hard to read.

i can be anal and all the extra white room on the sides is strange. i will probably get used to it or is it just for tonight?

Ahh crap. That totally blows. Until this I was on the fence and trying to give the new site a chance. I hate sites that have a set width for their content. I've got the room on the monitor, I want to use it. This way I'm lucky to see 5 posts on one screen. The old way I could drag the window out and see 20. This is very bad.

Most sites on the web are trying to move away from a set width for their content, for this exact reason - people are on vastly different resolutions these days. Bad time to go backwards 2+2.
