JTs turns flush, river decision
New to the game (~20 hands), the table seems very loose and passive.

Re: JTs turns flush, river decision
Preflop is OK and you got your desired result of multiway action.
On the flop I am inclined to raise for a free card here. You stated this is a loose-passive table and you already have three callers behind you. You may also buy the button. This is a good spot to use this play. The way you played it one player left to act is fine. The turn is fine. I don't really know what to put UTG on here. Whatever it is he has played it terribly. The river call is OK too because you are going for the overcall from the SB who likely has an ace. A raise would probably be better because I think you are ahead of both players and neither are throwing away an ace in this big pot. |

Re: JTs turns flush, river decision
There is a good enough chance that villian has A7, A5, or A2 here that I would just call. It's also possible someone has the higher flush, but I think you would have known that on the turn.

raise flop for value.
raise river for value. utg has trips way more than he has a boat. |

Raise the flop for value.
I think going for the overcall is probably okay here. Obviously I want to stick in another raise, but if UTG 3-bets then we're probably toast. I'll just try to collect another bet from SB and avoid a reraise. |

Re: JTs turns flush, river decision
I would raise the flop for value and to maybe get a FC, since the table is loose-passive. On the river I just call. We have allready represented the flush on the turn. Seems weird of villain to donk trips here. Also SB is more likely to call one than two, so often we gain nothing by raising.

i think raising is marginally better than calling

Re: JTs turns flush, river decision
You've got the best hand here a lot of the time, but by just calling you're a lot more likely to get SB to put money in. Calling here wins you the same amount as raising when you're ahead and loses the least when you're behind.

[/ QUOTE ] disagree with the first part of this given stakes and the behind players tendencies thus far. if he is calling one he is probly calling 2 |
