AQo in 4 way capped pot
15/30 Live
Villain is a decent TAG. I've seen her raise 77 UTG before, although her capping range is obviously much tighter. Villain opens UTG+1, I 3bet AQo in MP, weak tight to my left cold calls, bad SB calls, villain caps, we all call. Flop: QJTr SB checks, Villain bets, Hero ?? What's our plan for the hand? |

frankly i could fold pf against this villain. [/ QUOTE ] Indeed, and against early position tougher opponents I frequently do make this fold. In this case I figured that considering her wide range up front my hand was probably good for a 3bet. I do agree that it's close though. |

Re: AQo in 4 way capped pot
Id fold pf too. I honestly dont even want to show this hand down. Id probably call to the river because I have outs then call on the river because I convince myself that I might chop. Gross spot for sure, but it could be avoided.

Re: AQo in 4 way capped pot
why not fold pf? You don't beat much of her range and lots of people to act behind you.
Hand 0: 51.515% 46.00% 05.52% 888422520 106588146.00 { 77+, ATs+, KJs+, AJo+, KQo } Hand 1: 48.485% 42.97% 05.52% 829880100 106588146.00 { AQo } Of course the problem is.... equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 60.252% 52.68% 07.57% 681910872 98057334.00 { 88+, AJs+, KQs, AQo+ } Hand 1: 39.748% 32.17% 07.57% 416476284 98057334.00 { AQo } The benefits of getting HU with position vs. a player with a slightly better hand than you are outweighed by the cost of the chances that one of the 5 players yet to have looked at their hand have better than you. |

Re: AQo in 4 way capped pot
the plan for the rest of the hand seems obvious to me. Fold. What in her range are you beating on a QJT board? The chances that you are ahead are next to nil, yes? So we are gutterballing to a str8 that may be a chop or spiking a queen for a POSSIBLE winner. Whatever. Next hand.

[/ QUOTE ] Also, saying that she'll raise as low as 77 here isn't implying anything too loose. That's standard for a TAG. It isn't standard for your random player, but those players are more prone to raise random hands from time to time and are easier to play post flop. |

Re: AQo in 4 way capped pot
with weak tight still to act right behind you i don't think you should even be peeling the flop. when weak tight players cc 3 bets PF from EP raisers the ranges that immediately pop into my head are TT-QQ and AK. combine that with UTG's capping range and you're drawing slim to dead.

Re: AQo in 4 way capped pot
call the flop and fold the turn UI. Your equity is wowowowow bad. If a Q comes off the turn you're still not a favorite.
