Re: My first post would like to know your thoughts
Welcome,
First use the hand converters. Second, I think if you were gonna bet that much you might as well have gone all in preflop and removed the mystery. Yes, his call is marginal, he's a true coin flip to you and any other hand he calls, or worse for him. The key question is whether you figured the Villan would call or fold to your All-in, and effectively with your raise you are all-in, if you think he calls it's all in or fold, if you think he'll fold I'd raise less. Personally I raise normally, and work from there. As I said, with your raise, you've essentially said you're going all in on the flop, when he calls, he's looking at paying the extra 1125 no matter what on pot odds alone. hth |

Re: My first post would like to know your thoughts
Raised too much. If you're going to go-and-go, raise to 1600 and then open shove any flop. Your flop bet would then be a pot sized bet and it'd be hard for villain to call without a queen. With the monster raise pre and the small remainder all-in on the flop, villain normally has the pot odds to call.
Personally, I either shove pre or just complete. |

Re: My first post would like to know your thoughts
You have 13 BBs, an OK hand, and a single limper -- this is an excellent spot to steal-raise if this guy has shown any tendency at all to limp a lot and limp/fold to raises.
But raising anything other than all-in here is a huge mistake. Oh, and welcome to 2+2... please use a hand converter next time. |

Re: My first post would like to know your thoughts
See the "MTT Frequently Asked Questions v1.5 (READ BEFORE POSTING!)" at the top of the forum for one... but I use the one here.
Make sure you select "2+2" from the drop-down box. |
