NL100 - QQ, questions on turn and river play?
Villain in this hand is a spewy/bad regular in the games. TAGfish, 20/9/2. We have some history but nothing significant. I have a few notes on the player; "Capable of making big bluffs in reraised pots" "Can't fold overpairs" "Calls down 3streets in 3bet pot w/ TT on 6659Q board."
My main concerns w/ the hand are the turn and river play. I know my flop bet is too small, i was playing lots of tables and I couldn't quite slide the slider far enough (bad I know). Anyways, What do you guys think of raising the turn? On the river is the riase too thin? Re: NL100 - QQ, questions on turn and river play?
I think the river push is fine based on your assessment that he will call down with worse than the flush or straight here.
His half pot lead on the turn smells of a flush draw. The river bet was small though which may discount the flush somewhat. |

Re: NL100 - QQ, questions on turn and river play?
I agree with raiders. His turn bet is either a reasonable hand wanting you to stick around or a draw. The size of the river bet suggests the former.
Given that you thnk he is a station you may well get called by worse here. The only caveat is if he is one of these players that assumes because you checked the turn you are weak and therefore was value betting the river as far as he thought you'd call. However, I'd need a read to credit this. I think you played it fine. |
