Should I invest in a membership with Stox/Cardrunners? TLDR
Preface:I'm playing Full ring for now, eventually plan to switch, but for now this is working out well, so my post is refering to full ring 25nl, 50nl, 100nl etc.
Quick(lol or not so quick) Background: I've been playing/studying for quite some time. Previously most of my experience was home game/B&M. I've read HoH, THoP, HPfAP, NLHT&P, Chen's book (mathematics of poker), and I read these forums many times daily. I've done well live, but I never exercised proper BR management, due to the lowest level that I was able to play in being 1/2 at the semi-local casino. I've decided to give it a go the right way online. October was my first real month of playing online. Unfortunately, I only deposited 100 initially to FT (oops should have read first) and have cleared that bonus, earned 200ish in rakeback and built a BR up to about $1200. I've been following a very strict regimen of study/play and I've logged at least 4hrs a day 7days a week playing 8 tables since I started. I'm focusing on volume and writing down key hands to analyze later. In my eyes I'm doing a good job of not being results oriented and not worrying about suck outs. If I get a bad beat then I played the hand right and I just hope they continually playing poorly against me. Once my rakeback is deposited this month (nov. 10th most likely) I will be somewhere between 1100-1400 in my BR. My next plan is to move up to 50NL and hopefully I can continue moving up quickly as I feel I'd be comfortable playing .5/1 by the end of next month. Now to the question: How valuable would it be for me to invest 120ish of my earnings this month (I earned more rakeback than that) in to StoxPoker or Cardrunners? I've noticed that there are a lot more 6max videos than FR videos. Perhaps I should wait until I build a decent BR playing FR and want to try and learn/make a switch to 6max? Any testimonials that swear by one of the sites and how it made a difference for them? Suggestions, Testimonials, Criticism, or links to the aforementioned are greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time, Fiedling |

If you have the spare cash they are fine...but when you talk about 'writing down key hands' I thought I'd better check first - you DO have pokertracker and a HUD up don't you?

If you don't have pt and hud, stox poker is including them if you sign up.

Re: Should I invest in a membership with Stox/Cardrunners? TLDR
I use pokeroffice. It has a HUD built in and a lot of key features. Unfortunately I haven't found a way to do PokerEV with it =/, but that's for another thread.
What I was refering to was, I write down holecards/hand number of key hands during a session. I 8 table only, so I don't have much time to stop and analyze the hand then. After my session I review the hand and most importantly the betting. Was I controlling the pot? What kind of odds did I give my opponent(opponents)? If I wasn't in control of the pot then what kind of odds did I have? etc etc. |
