Default AVG crashing Vista

Just got my new Dell Inspiron and am trying to install all my protections.

AVG installs fine. But when it checks for updates it crashes me and sends me to a blue screen. If I restart in safe mode and unistall AVG I am fine.

Has anyone had these issues before? Any help?

are you running the latest version?

it may be conflicting with Widows Defender or the firewall.

I haven't read any issues with Vista and AVG, but I had a firewall cause a similar problem with XP conflicting with the windows firewall.

I think so. I tried it a couple times and it blue screened both times so I just dumped AVG and installed something else. Thanks.
