Default Theory: Playing HU vs nits

how do you do it

i have no [censored] idea. does ANYONE not spew against nits HU? i don't just mean like ppl who repop with a tight range. i mean really [censored] nitty, like 28/20 hu but play aggro whenever they're in a hand. what are you supposed to do to win [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

all i ever find myself able to do is to quit them and privately take solace in the notion that they probably will not be winning much in the long run cuz of their nittiness even tho i can't do [censored] about it

this might be a stupid post but w/e i might as well try

thanks

whenever i try to do that i usually end up going like slowly slowly building up my stack, getting 3-bet or calling a 3-bet and folding the flop and going back to normal, slowly going up again and then getting c/r'd on a flop, etc ad infinitum

and then of course half an hour later i get AI with a gutshot + flush draw vs a set and lose and then i dunno what i wasted my last half hour doing so i start to get pissed and donate some more ~_~

at least against a normal opponent you have some hope that maybe you'll be able to win back some money if you change it up or start trying to push him around. but vs these guys it just seems like you CANT change the flow of the match no matter how hard you try, they'll just slowly slip the dollar bills out of your back pocket while you're mouth off at them

dont call 3bets against nits without hands that will flop well against AA. that means fold KJ and QJ and such.

make your continuation bets smaller.

make all your bets smaller.

profit.

uh, outplay them the same way you would in a 6max game?

steal their blinds, cbet, double barrel liberally, etc. hand read better than them.

nits are far and away the easiest opponents heads up. if you can't beat them, consider figuring out why. if i could play nits everyday, i dont think id ever have a losing session.

This is true. And as some good post above this have stated, you must pick the dead money by semi-bluffing and double barreling liberally. If he's HU playing 28/20 then there's a lot of money to be won without contest.
