Standard line against LAGgy player? 100NL live
I'm pretty new to NL (longtime limit player) so this probably falls under typical play.
I'm in early position with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in a $1-2 blinds game. UTG, very laggy player, limps in. I make it $9 to go, only he calls. Flop is A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. He leads $20 into me, a play I'd seen him make before with a weak ace against another preflop raiser. He has $40 left, I have him covered. Given the draw on the board, what's the best line against a player like this? |

With only 30bbs postflop just shove with TPTK. Your push is going to give him ~2.5:1 so he's not folding anything he bets with.

You're telling me he wouldn't fold A3 or something for $40 more? I think most players who have a hand that weak when faced with "an obvious AK" would fold there. Could be my inexperience with NL though.

I've played like only 12h of live poker last weakend but I learned A LOT. Just shove here and expect to get called by KJos or some crap here. Really.

Get it in because he's pot committed and you want the money in now, as opposed to having to call off $40 on the turn after a diamond/Q/J/T comes off.

Stacks are too short given your "read" on villain as "laggy" to get away from this hand if you are behind. I think you are ahead of his draws and/or other various semi-bluffs and bluffs often enough to push with a +EV. |

Re: Standard line against LAGgy player? 100NL live
This is a standard move for LAGs with draws too (speaking as one). Somewhere between a semi-bluff and a dumbass blocking bet. It's possible he has a set/2p, of course, but I'm guessing either draw or weak ace most of the time.
