Default To cold call or raise?

MP is a decent LAG (say 45/25/3). The rest of the players are loose and generally passive players.

Hero has KQo in the CO.

UTG limps, MP raises, Hero?

your hand beats there range and you dont mind people folding behind you. If people call behind you you will have a nice eq edge and often position

I don't think your equity is that great with KQo:

5,486,222,016 games 0.005 secs 1,097,244,403,200 games/sec

Board:
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 51.358% 49.06% 02.29% 2691743556 125868018.00 { 55+, A4s+, K7s+, Q9s+, J9s+, T9s, 98s, A7o+, KTo+, QTo+, JTo }
Hand 1: 48.642% 46.35% 02.29% 2542742424 125868018.00 { KQo }

I would assume that most are going to fold for 3 here, but there is a good chance they would call for 2 (the BB for sure.)

A 45/25 is opening with any pocket pair and I think more hands than this.

This is like a snap 3bet and you feel good about it.

That is if you get it HU. If you get it HU the pot will be 8 SB (say the small blind pays the rake) where you paid 3 SB. So if you get it HU against that range you just made a little less than 1 SB.

This will be even better if the limper calls!

Now add the SB's you will win because you have position, implied FE and a skill edge postflop.

Move up faster
Stop folding
3-bet more

Oink

So basically you are stoving 25% range and seeing if you have what % equity to 3ball?

if you play it, 3 bet. you don't want ppl behind you calling since KQo wins mostly when it makes pairs than anything else. the less people in, the more likely your pair of queens, for instance if you pair the Q, hold up. also, the less ppl in the pot, the higher your chance to steal the pot postflop because of your positional advantage. another thing, the utg limper may fold and you'll get it hu, which is great.

You don't need to have >50% equity to 3 bet pre. You have an overlay from the blinds and limper assuming they fold (limper calling is fine too) and have position for the hand.
