AA vs. on KQ3 vs. passive donk
villain is 30/10/1.4 over 100 or so hands.
some pokerstove: Hand 0: 57.968% 56.85% 01.12% 27578 542.50 { AcAh } Hand 1: 42.032% 40.91% 01.12% 19847 542.50 { QQ+, 33, AKs, KTs+, AKo, KTo+ } Ive had allot of trouble with these TPTKesque type hands lately.. And based on poker stove it seems like i was wrong to fold? idk let me know if u think i made his range to much or too little. If he checked turn i would most likely call a river bet ovb depending b/c that is the like i would see from TP w/e kicker most the time. |

Re: AA vs. on KQ3 vs. passive donk
I don't think you should make KT a big part of his range. He check-raised you on the flop, not the turn, so there's no reason to believe the 10 gave him two-pair.
His flop check-raise is so small and he follows up with a smallish turn bet, which makes me believe that he is trying to steal the pot cheaply with nothing, or that he just has something that isn't very good and he's playing scared. I would 3-bet the flop or at least call him down after the turn as played. |

Re: AA vs. on KQ3 vs. passive donk
I think you have to push the flop here, get your money in while you are a probable favorite. I laugh when he calls and flips over AQ.
As played, I STILL think you have to make him show you, although that 10 is an awful card. |

Why don't you want money in the pot? You have what stands to be the best hand ALOT here.

I'd shove on the flop.

Re: AA vs. on KQ3 vs. passive donk
why shove the flop? He only calls if he got us beat.
I'd just call him down here. |

[/ QUOTE ] I can't be 100% because this is totally player dependant, but alot of players at this level will call with AK, KJ, KT, and even some trash kings. Also, some villains will call with Q and some might even call with JT. |

Re: AA vs. on KQ3 vs. passive donk
What beats you on the flop? KQ? I very much doubt he is that strong. You said that your plan was to "call flop and fold to future agression." Wrong plan. You need to re-raise the check raise; a pot sized bet should do it. With the stack you have, and the range you beat, you want to commit to this hand, that way, even if the villain shoves to your reraise, you can call knowing that most of the time in such a situation you're +EV. I would guess that you are up against top pair.
The only thing that would prevent me from committing to this hand after he check raised, is if I had a really strong read that this guy only check raises with two pair or better on the flop. And if that's the read I have, then I fold. Like I said though, I need a very strong read to make this fold. 90% of the time I'm committing. I'm calling 0% of the time. |
