Password Manager
I currently write all my passwords in a Microsoft Word file but it would be a big mess if somebody stole my computer and found all my passwords for every pokersite I played and every email address I got! So I'm thinking about buying a password manager software.
I'm willing to pay for it but I want it to be REALLY secured. I've heard of keepass (free and opensource) but I dont know if I should trust it since its free and an opensource. Is it possible that it could have trojans or other viruses in it? I've also found this one from www.CP-Lab.com for $30. Anyone currently using a good password manager software that would recommend?? |

Re: Password Manager
If a certain software is opensource, you can get it's source code, and if you get it's code, you can verify that is clean by compiling it yourself.

[/ QUOTE ] That is a good point, although based on the original comment, he's probably (like me) not aware of how to compile it himself. However, to the OP, the facts that it is open source, has been around for a while, and has many people recommend it means it is very likely to be secure (much better than your current method). FWIW, I use KeePass and agree it is a great utility. |

i've used keepass password safe for over a year. that said, and it's open source, going with anything else would be foolish esp. if it costs $.
