(Stars $162) Maximize value w/ top two pair?
Hand from Stars $100K nightly. No particular read on the villain other than he hadn't gotten out of line. What line do I take here? I'm assuming I have the best hand, so I'm willing to build a big pot and go bust against AA, QQ, or 66.

Re: (Stars $162) Maximize value w/ top two pair?
I think if you just call he'll shut down w/ most hands that can't call a flop raise anyways, so I like raising the flop to get most value from AK, and maybe AJ.
If you just call and raise a safe turn, villain might be able to get away from AK which is something we don't want obv. However, if you decide to just call the flop, I think we can rep AJ-AT or a FD and in that case I think you'll have to just call the turn as well and wait until the river to jam. There are cards that could peel off though that will kill any potential action you could've got on the flop though, so yeah I like a flop raise in this spot. |

call flop. Raise turn if its a non-spade.

Call. Raising the flop folds out tons of hands, and gets called by exactly one that you're beating unless villain is the rare donk that thinks Ax is the nuts. Our goal here is to allow worse hands to keep putting money in, and the way to do that is to call.

def raise. like 1500 or something. AK is not folding, and if he's a donk AJ and AT probably aren't either. also he might shove a fl draw.

Raising is definitely best in a vacuum IMO. What's not checking to us on the turn UI?
However, with specific dynamics, anything from a call through a minraise to a shove can be justified. |

Re: (Stars $162) Maximize value w/ top two pair?
I like calling here because it doesn't let the villian get the info his bets trying to gain. If he's betting to see where he's at with AJ A10 KK or KQ, he'll throw it away against a raise. If I knew for a fact he had AK I would raise, but I'm willing to give AK a free card. If the villian bets a safe turn then I'll go for the raise. If the villian checks the turn on a non flush card then I might check behind on the turn as well to try and set up a value bet on the river. I think all the hands mentioned above would call a river value bet sometimes.
