Live 1/2/3 Two hands pre-flop, 3-bet to me
Not sure if I made the right plays here and want advice. Maybe I'll tell you what I did and what the bettors had later, but not here. I want unvarnished advice, please.
3-100 spread limit (1/2/3 blinds) at Garden City in San Jose, 8-9 players. Hand 1: Me (UTG) - ~$100 CO - ~$60 - Read: Loose, but not overly aggressive Button - ~$150 - Read: A bit tighter, but a bit more aggressive than CO. Still fairly loose/passive PF. I get AKo UTG and make it $10. Folds to the CO who calls. Button pops it to $35. SB/BB both fold. What is your play? Hand 2: Me (HJ) - ~$150 UTG - $75 - Read: For this game, he was TAG. Overall I would rate as a ballpark 30/15/5. UTG+1 - $60 - Read: CO from previous hand. I have 88 from the high-jack. UTG makes it $12, UTG+1 pushes for $60. Folded to me. What's your play? Like I said, I'd like to know if I played these correctly, so tell me what you would do. Maybe I'll tell you later what happened and what they had. |

Re: Two hands pre-flop, 3-bet to me
1) I'd push. I'd say it should be 22+, AQs+, AQo, AJs, ATs).
2) Fold. Imo theres a great probability to be against AK, TT+ |

Re: Live 1/2/3 Two hands pre-flop, 3-bet to me
Thanks for all of the advice. Pretty much what I suspected after the fact, but it's good to get confirmation. More info in white for those who want to read what happened.
Hand 1: I folded for two reasons. A) I had not seen a single 3-bet in the fairly short time I had been at the table and was afraid of AA/KK. And B) With the CO behind, I felt like I was going to be playing 3-way for $60 at least. I was getting a bad read on both players, so I decided to take the weak move and let them go at it. CO - AQs B - 33 They got it all in PF and I would have flopped a K for the winner. As it was, the 33 held up. Hand 2: Again I folded, but I felt a little better about it this time. A) I had nothing invested and could not see UTG+1 pushing this much without a big pair or AK. B) UTG was noticably better than the other guy and I thought he was unlikely to raise PF from that position w/o a PP or two high cards. I think my weak laydown on the previously mentioned hand almost got me into trouble here. UTG - JTo UTG+1 - 33 Turned a T for UTG to take it. In both cases I probably would have called if I had not been worried about the potential third player in the hand. |
